ARTrees – 2017 to 2019

ARTrees started off as a class project and has evolved beyond the classroom. We are currently funded through a grant provided by The STEAM Factory at the Ohio State University. The team is comprised of students, faculty, and staff of the Ohio State University.

I’ve been a part of the project since the beginning and have worked as a developer and have created 2D and 3D content for the app as well as  developing the UI for the app.

In November 2018 we had our Beta event and are looking towards a launch later in the future.

The main goal of the app is to bring awareness about the trees on OSU’s campus and their benefits. Currently we are focusing only on the trees on OSU’s campus but in the future we hope to branch out more. The app allows the viewer to learn more about the trees on campus which is linked to a database provided by the Chadwick Arboretum. When holding the app, the user will be able to see data about current trees, future trees, as well as special and removed trees.
